SpeakApp combines local processing with cloud services. Here are the actual data flows, feature by feature.
The real data path
Three paths. No blanket promises.
The appropriate level of protection depends on the action: a local voice command does not take the same path as dictation or speech synthesis.
02 · In transit
The cloud, when the feature requires it.
- Dictation: audio is sent to our transcription provider to convert it into text.
- Reading: text to be spoken is sent to Microsoft's text-to-speech service.
- AI processing: text is sent to our AI provider's European infrastructure.
03 · Account
The service retains only what it needs.
- Your account, usage allowances, and subscription status are managed by our EU-based hosting provider.
- Stripe processes payments; SpeakApp does not store card details.
- SpeakApp does not retain conversation content on its servers.
You stay in control

Privacy is not a badge. You can verify it in Settings, the list of recipients, and the contractual documents.
No hidden telemetry
No undisclosed third-party analytics. You choose whether to send diagnostic reports.
Independent controls
Reading, speech synthesis, and AI features have separate settings. Enable only what you need.

Our public list identifies each sub-processor, its role, and the transfers involved.
