Transparency commitment: speakapp.work uses no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, and no audience analytics cookies. Only cookies strictly necessary to operate the service are used, and only if you create a user account.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your computer or mobile device by a website you visit. Cookies allow a website to remember information, such as the fact that you are signed in, between visits.

French and EU law (ePrivacy Directive, GDPR, CNIL guidance) distinguishes two main categories:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: required for a service specifically requested by the user. Prior consent is not required.
  • Non-essential cookies: analytics, advertising, and third-party trackers require the user's prior, explicit consent through a cookie banner.

2. Cookies used by speakapp.work

The following is the complete list of cookies placed by our service:

Cookie nameProviderPurposeLifetimeCategory

sb-refresh-tokenSupabase (auth)Automatically regenerate the access token without another sign-in30 days (revoked after last use)Strictly necessary

No other cookies are placed on speakapp.work, in particular:

3. Cookies we do NOT use

  • ❌ Google Analytics or other third-party audience measurement software
  • ❌ Advertising cookies (Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight, etc.)
  • ❌ Third-party trackers (Hotjar, Crazy Egg, Mouseflow, etc.)
  • ❌ Social media cookies (Share buttons that set cookies even without a click)
  • ❌ Retargeting or behavioral profiling cookies
  • ❌ Device fingerprinting or other tracking techniques intended to replace cookies

We follow a privacy-first approach: we collect only what is strictly necessary to provide the service and actively minimize that collection.

4. Cookies in the SpeakApp desktop application

The SpeakApp Windows desktop application sets no cookies on your operating system. Its architecture is primarily native Python, with no embedded browser for the main features.

Rare components that use a web view (such as Control Center) use encrypted local storage (Windows DPAPI) instead of ordinary cookies.

5. How to manage or delete cookies

Because only strictly necessary cookies are set, removing them will prevent you from staying signed in and make the service inaccessible until you sign in again. You retain control:

In your browser

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and data stored

For European users

YourOnlineChoices.com allows you to manage cookie preferences collectively across the web.

6. Changes to this policy

If we decide to introduce a non-essential cookie (for example privacy-respecting analytics), we will implement:

  • A GDPR/ePrivacy-compliant consent banner with granular choices
  • An update to this page with 30 days' prior notice
  • An email notification to active subscribers

The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version.

7. Your rights and contact

Under GDPR Articles 15 through 22, you have rights concerning your personal data. To exercise them:
