Dictation learns to write your words your way

Client names, industry terms, and jargon are exactly where dictation tends to stumble. Correct a word manually once. SpeakApp gets it right the next time.

Build a list—or correct a word once

Traditional custom dictionaries use a list you fill in beforehand, sometimes with replacement rules applied afterward. They work well, but you need to know the word before dictating and take the time to enter it. SpeakApp takes the opposite approach: it compares your spoken input with what actually ends up in the text field, then learns the difference. The vocabulary grows as you work, with no list to complete first.

Where corrections can be learned

Where you writeResultWhy
AI conversationsLearnedCorrections made in the browser or desktop app are picked up.
Standard Windows appsLearnedNotepad, email, word processors, contact software—provided the text field is exposed through Windows accessibility.
Consoles, terminals, apps with custom controlsSafely skippedThese windows accept dictated text without exposing their text field. Dictation still works, but the correction cannot be learned.

You remain in control of your word list

View learned words, add or remove them, or import a team glossary or client names from a text file, one word per line. Automatic learning saves the initial setup, not your ability to edit.

Limitations worth knowing before you use it

Learning is on by default and there is currently no visible switch to disable it. You can disable the separate suggestion alert when recognition appears to have gone wrong.

Learning is silent. It does not interrupt you or confirm each new term; open your list to check what was saved.

A word can be suspended. If it sounds too much like a common French word, SpeakApp stops applying the correction to avoid hurting other recognition. The entry remains visible in your list but is inactive.
