Speech to text for AI prompts: dictate, then follow your agents
SpeakApp reads your AI agents' replies aloud, one after another. You say “ok”, answer, say “enter”, and your message goes into the right session, with no window to hunt down. Speech to text turns your voice into text: with SpeakApp it is written at the cursor, in the field you are looking at, in many languages. Windows also includes its own voice typing at no extra cost. Pick by need: writing a text, or following your AI conversations.
How do you do speech to text on Windows?
Two ways, and they don't exclude each other.
- Windows voice typing: cursor in a text box, Windows + H, then wait for “Listening…” before you speak. It works on Windows 10 and 11 and needs a microphone and an internet connection, per Microsoft. To change language, add it under Settings, Time & language, then switch with Windows + Space.
- SpeakApp dictation: cursor in the field you want, Ctrl + Shift + Space (or the word “ok” when no reply is waiting), speak, say “stop” to paste without sending.
With SpeakApp you choose the dictation language in the settings. If your output language is different, it translates.
Precise mode or Fast mode?
Neither writes while you speak: the text arrives at the end. In Precise (the original mode), transcription happens afterwards and the text arrives a little later with the best quality. In Fast, transcription runs while you speak and the text is pasted as soon as you stop.
Why dictating a prompt is only half of it
Dictating a prompt is half the work. The other half is what comes back. Your agents' replies are read aloud one after another. You say “ok”, answer, say “enter”, and your message goes into the right session. Dictation alone reads nothing and doesn't choose the conversation.
Words specific to your work, a client name, HubSpot, team jargon, are learned by the personal dictionary when you correct them.
