Text to speech for AI chat replies

SpeakApp reads your AI agents' replies aloud, one after another. You say “ok”, answer, say “enter”, and your message goes into the right session, with no window to hunt down. It is more than text to speech: the reading follows your conversations, keeps a queue of what is waiting and sends your answer to the right session. Windows also has its own screen reader, Narrator. It reads the screen, not a queue of agent conversations.

How do you listen to ChatGPT and Claude replies?

  1. Install SpeakApp. For ChatGPT or Claude in a browser, add its extension.
  2. Work as usual. When a reply is finished, it joins the queue and is read to you.
  3. The toast, the card at the top right, shows the conversation that is speaking with read, skip, later, reply and open.
  4. Say “ok” to answer, dictate, then say “enter”: the message goes into the conversation that spoke.

The widget's circle counts what is waiting. Clicking it opens the “To listen” list: reading now, next, already read, set aside. Each line can be replayed, opened, removed from the list or postponed.

What does Windows read on its own?

Windows has a screen reader, Narrator. According to Microsoft, you start it with Windows + Ctrl + Enter, it reads on-screen text aloud, and natural voices can be downloaded under Settings, Accessibility, Narrator. It is an accessibility tool: it reads the screen. It doesn't know which conversation is waiting and doesn't send your answer into its session.

Full reading or a summary?

By default the reading is complete. A summary level (light, medium or strong) is set in the settings. Nothing is summarised without your agreement for online AI.

What if I want to ask a question aloud?

Hey Speak, SpeakApp's voice agent, answers your question aloud: see the voice agent page. Dictation writes your words at the cursor and stays a separate feature.
