For developers running multiple AI agents

You start three agent sessions, return to writing code, then spend the next half-hour checking which one has replied. SpeakApp removes those checks: it detects a finished reply, reads it aloud or simply notifies you, and lets you respond by voice without abandoning your editor or switching windows.

A day of managing agents

Working with AI agents is less a continuous conversation than orchestration. Start a task, move on, come back; repeat with the next session. Each finishes at a different time, with no inherent alert. It is the checking, not the waiting itself, that breaks concentration: Alt-Tab, read three lines, switch back, and your focus has gone.

What changes in practice

  • Know which session is done without looking. End-of-reply detection distinguishes a finished conversation from one that is stalled or waiting for your answer, even when nothing moves on screen, which no system notification knows how to signal.
  • Listen or just be notified. Notify-instead-of-read tells you a reply is ready and stops there. Otherwise playback starts; you can skip, rewind, jump ahead 15 seconds, or request a summary instead of the full text.
  • Reply without leaving the editor. Dictation types at the cursor in any Windows application (the targeted session, your editor, your terminal, your browser), in 40 languages. Say the customizable word “ok” to send your reply to the correct session.
  • Keep your sessions where they are. SpeakApp reads what is on screen; it asks the assistant for no integration, no extension to accept and no file to write on its side.

What it cannot do

  • Remotely executed cloud sessions remain invisible. This is the principal limit for developers. Reading takes content at its source: the conversation trace on disk or the page in the browser. A remote execution leaves its outputs on disk but not the dialogue trace.
  • Conversations older than roughly six hours are not resumed in the queue, without warning.
  • SpeakApp does not code for you. It does not replace your agent or editor; it handles the round trip between you and them.
  • Windows 10/11 only at present.

Frequently asked questions

Which assistants work?

Those displaying their conversations on your PC, either as desktop applications or web applications through the browser extension. SpeakApp reads what is shown and types at the cursor; it does not depend on an assistant API or the vendor opening an integration.

How many sessions can run in parallel?

As many as you open. Ready replies go into a single queue and are read sequentially by one voice: two voices at once would be impossible to follow. You can remove one conversation without affecting the others. The queue survives an app restart.

Does it read source code aloud?

Reading every character of a code block would be difficult to follow. That is where summaries and filtering help: hear what a reply proposes, then review the diff on screen when it matters. Audio helps you triage, not replace code review.
